Sunscreen for Every Woman

It official, Summer is on the horizon! I am ready for rooftop day parties, Sunday brunches on restaurant patios, and soaking up some SUN. Yes our favorite season (after Fall of course) is here and I am ready to take it all in. I do not mean to rain on the parade but ladies, we need to talk about healthy sun care. I feel like a lot of people do not concern themselves with our skin when they are frolicking in the sun. Girls, just wanna have sun, right? Well we need to be really mindful of how we are soaking up those rays. One of the leading causes of skin cancer is too much sun exposure. Once our skin cells are exposed to the sun, we get a tan obvi, however too much can cause damage to our skin cells through radiation which causes tumors to form. I know, super scary. Luckily, we have this lovely product we can use, SUNSCREEN. Here are the best sunscreens for ever skin type and color:

ANTHELIOS MELT-IN SUNSCREEN MILK SPF 60

The Anthelios Melt-In Sunscreen is known for its velvet finish. You know how sometimes sunscreen leaves a gross oily sheen over the skin? Well you can wave that goodbye! It is fast absorbing and is water resistant for up to 80 minutes. Amazing, right?! This is a great option for you if you have sensitive skin as well. This product retails for $22 and you can pick it up at Target.

Supergoop Unseen Protection SPF 40

This sunscreen is great for women of color. This product applies as an oil but melts into the skin and it is very lightweight. It also doubles as a great primer before you put your makeup on as well. I know, amazing. What makes this product even better is that it does not leave any white residue on skin which is where most women of color struggle when looking for the right sunscreen. The Unseen Sunscreen retails for $32 and you can find it at Sephora.

Glossier Invisible Shield SPF 35

One of your favorite indie brands has a sunscreen: Glossier! Their unique formula acts as a water-based gel that you can apply after your moisturizer everyday. This formula has a great scent and is very breathable. It does not clog the pores and will not leave your makeup looking oily. I would not suggest using this on a beach day due to it not being water resistant but if you are going to be in the sun, you definitely should check it out. You can find this sunscreen directly at Glossier.

Trader Joe’s Spray SPF 50

Wait, did someone say Trader Joe’s? This one had me SHOOK. This spray based sunscreen received a perfect score from the 2019 Consumer Report. Insane, right? This is the second sunscreen to receive a perfect rating. It retails for around $6 at Trader Joe’s. It has the ultimate level of UVA and UBA protection. Its perfect for your beach day!
