Natural Summer Hacks
Summer has arrived, here are 4 natural hacks to help you get ready!
1. Bug Repellent
We all want to hang out with our best friends and all our families for the summer. Having a fun time during cookouts and gatherings without our unwanted mosquito guests. To enjoy your family and friend time just a little bit more, a bug repellent spray and a bug repellent candle can help with keeping them away, naturally.
Bug Repellent Spray: Fill a small travel size 2 ounce bottle with distilled water and add 15 drops of lavender essential oil. Shake the bottle with each use to ensure that the lavender essential oil is mixed and spray to desired areas.
Bug Repellent Candle: In a small mason jar, add sliced lemons and limes, rosemary and mint leaves, and fill with water. Leave the cap off and place a floating candle on top. Light the candle when ready for use.
2. Smoothie Ice Cream
Making a nice, cold smoothie can help the hot day become a little bit cooler. The smoothie can also keep you hydrated and fueled with your daily essential vitamins. If you feel you have made too much of your smoothie and don’t know what to do, here’s an idea! Place the leftover smoothie into a bowl, or carton, and place it into the freezer. In a few hours, the smoothie becomes a carton of ice cream for dessert!
3. Sunburn Soother
Have a sunburn? Aloe vera is great for its cooling and hydrating properties to help with healing sunburns. For immediate relief, and for great convenience, fill an ice cube tray with aloe vera gel and place it into the freezer. That way, it’s already cool and ready for use and easy to travel with!
4. Frozen Fruit Ice Cubes
Want a little flavor in your summer drinks? Adding fruits can keep your drink interesting and full of taste by adding some blueberries, mint leaves, or cut up strawberries. Place the fruits into an ice cube tray and fill the tray up with water. Place the tray into the freezer until the ice cubes are ready and enjoy!
